FLUO Panleukopenia
IFA kit for the detection of IgG antibodies to Feline Panleukopenia Virus
Fluo Panleukopenia is an immunofluorescence-based test for the detection of anti-Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) IgG antibodies in cat serum or plasma samples.
Feline Panleukopenia Parvovirus (FPV) causes severe enteritis in cats, with high mortality in feline populations worldwide. The virus is highly contagious and very resistant in the environment (up to one year) and is transmitted by direct contact through infected faeces and body fluids or indirect contact through the exposure to contaminated objects, such as litter, food dishes, or even owners’ shoes and clothing. Both intrauterine transmission and neonatal infection are possible.
The most sensitive subjects to infection are unvaccinated young cats.
Vaccination is the most effective means of prevention.
