FPV IC
Rapid Test for the detection of the feline Panleukopenia Virus antigen
FPV IC is an immunochromatographic test for the detection of Feline Panleukopenia (FPV) antigen in feline faeces samples.
Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) causes severe enteritis in cats, with high mortality in feline populations worldwide. The virus is highly contagious and very resistant in the environment (up to one year) and is transmitted by direct contact with infected feces and body fluids or indirectly through exposure to contaminated objects, such as bedding, bowls or even shoes and clothing of the owners. Both intrauterine transmission and neonatal infection are possible.
The most sensitive subjects to infection are unvaccinated young cats.
Vaccination is the most effective means of prevention.
